Despite no sale last week due to the Easter break numbers remained fairly steady this sale. Quality was mixed with some handy lines of well finished and grain assisted cattle offered along with the plainer secondary lines. Yearlings made up the majority of the yarding. The usual buyers were present and competing in a market that showed a firm to dearer trend from the previous sale a fortnight ago.
Yearling steers to processors held firm selling from 305c to 369c/kg. Those to feed, jumped 15c, with middle weights receiving from 345c to 382c and heavies from 300c to 376c/kg. The heifer portion to processors was firm to 4c dearer to range from 302c to 362c/kg. Those to feed, lifted 12c to 14c to sell from 300c to 347c/kg.
Heavy steers and bullocks sold from 305c to 346c and grown heifers ranged from 270c to 315c/kg. Cows held steady with heavy 2 score from 226c to 245c and 3 score 239c to 250c/kg.
