Numbers halved this sale and quality continues to be mixed. There was a good offering of well finished grain assisted cattle along with the plainer secondary types. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing in a firm market. Yearling steers to processor held firm, with prices ranging from 252c to 300c/kg. Those to feed were also steady with middle weights selling from 278c to 318c, and heavy weights from 277c to 310c/kg. Yearling heifers were limited in number, but held mostly firm. Those to processors received from 250c to 300c, while feeders paid from 251c to 286c/kg. Heavy steers and bullocks were in short supply and sold from 252c to 269c/kg. Grown heifers ranged in price from 238c to 264c/kg. Heavy 2 score cows eased 4c, to sell from 200c to 223c/kg. 3 score cows lifted 2c, to range from 223c to 232c/kg. The best heavy bull reached 280c/kg.
