Numbers jumped significantly this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the increase. Lamb quality continues to be very mixed with some good lines of well finished lambs offered along with the plainer types. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs made up the majority of the offering. The usual buyers were present and competing in a fairly firm market. A limited offering of trade weight new season lambs sold from $127 to $165/head. Old trade weights lambs held firm to $3 easier with prices ranging from $120 to $148/head. Heavy lambs held steady to receive from $144 to $168/head. Extra heavy weights were $5 to $6 easier after last weeks strong sale with prices ranging from $154 to $234/head. Carcase prices averaged from 620c to 650c/kg. Mutton quality was similar to that of previous sales. Merinos made up the majority of the yarding and prices remain strong. Merino ewes sold from $90 to $172/head. Crossbreds received from $104 to $157/head. Dorper ewes sold from $96 to $140/head. Merino wethers ranged in price from $102 to $176/head.
