Numbers eased slightly this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the decrease. Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales with good numbers of well finished lambs penned along with the plainer types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a slightly dearer market. Light lambs lifted $4 to sell from $110 to $119/head. Trade weights were $2 to $4 better to make from $118 to $158/head. Trade weight Merinos sold from $120 to $144/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were also $2 to $4/head dearer. Heavy lambs sold from $148 to $168/head. Extra heavy weights received from $155 to $232/head. Carcase prices averaged 600c to 630c/kg cwt. Mutton was made up of mostly Merinos and quality was fair. Prices lifted with Merino ewes selling from $80 to $156/head. Crossbred ewes sold from $84 to $156 with Dorper ewes receiving from $74 to $118/head. Merino wethers reached a top of $182/head.
