Numbers fell this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the decrease. Lamb quality was mixed with both well finished and plainer lambs penned. The usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market. Light lambs eased $3 to sell from $103 to $116/head. Trade weights were $2 to $3 easier with prices ranging from $119 to $140/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs sold $3 to $5/head cheaper. Heavy lambs sold from $137 to $149 and extra heavies ranged from $145 to $217/head. Carcase prices averaged from 580c to 595c/kg. Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and quality was mixed. Prices decreased with Merino ewes making from $90 to $158/head. Crossbreds sold from $88 to $175/head. Merino wethers received from $102 to $163/head.
