Numbers lifted and quality also showed an improvement. There were some better lines of finished and grain assisted cattle on offer along with
the secondary types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a market that fluctuated with quality.
Yearling steers to processors were limited and sold from 240c to 280c/kg. Those to feed were 5c to 10c better with medium weights selling
from 250c to 317c and heavy weights sold from 260c to 314c/kg. The heifer portion to processors sold from 230c to 280c/kg. Those to feed
were 10c better with medium weights sold from 220c to 260c and heavy weights sold from 230c to 271c/kg. |
Heavy steers and bullocks were limited and reached 280c/kg. Grown heifers sold from 223c to 253c/kg for the better finished types. Cows
were firm to 5c better with heavy 2 scores selling from 170c to 202c and 3 scores sold from 190c to 215c/kg. The best heavy bull reached
243c/kg.
