Numbers lifted slightly, and the quality remains good. Yearlings were well supplied and feeders and processors were active on most weights. There were a few vealers and grown steers in prime condition were limited in supply, but there were good numbers of heavy yearlings. Grown heifers were back slightly in volume, and there were 190 cows offered.
The market sold to a dearer trend. Light weight young cattle to restock sold to 572c for heavy weaner steers, and light weight heifers reached 550c/kg. Heavy butcher vealers gained 20c, selling from 479c to 512c/kg. Medium weight feeder steers lifted in price by 6c, and ranged from 420c to 471c/kg. Heavy weight feeders were up to 20c dearer, with some lines from 422c to 482c/kg.
Heifers to feed on lifted in price by 17c, with the medium weights from 439c to 471c, and heavy weights reached 469c/kg. Heavy weight trade steers were 20c stronger, while light weights were firm and sold 405c to 424c/kg. Heifers in the mid 400kg range sold from 390c to 474c/kg.
Grown steers reached 413c, and bullocks made to 404c/kg. Grown heifers made from 378c to 393c/kg for the better shaped heavy weights. Cows were 6c dearer, with the medium weights from 255c to 278c/kg. Heavy weight 3 and 4 score cows were 3c to 6c dearer and sold from 297c to 314c/kg.
