Numbers showed a big increase this sale though quality showed a sharp decline. Plain light cattle made up the majority of the
offering though there was still a few supplementary fed finished pens available. Yearlings made up the majority of the yarding
along with a good number of cows. The usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market that was affected by the
quality offered.
Yearling steers were back by 15c to 20c/kg. Processors paid from 252c to 304c/kg for medium and heavy weights. The plainer
lines to feed received from 230c to 330c/kg. Yearling heifers to feed were back by 15c to sell from 222c to 275c/kg. Those to
processors sold from 220c to 290c/kg for the medium and heavy weights.
Heavy steers and bullocks were limited in number and were back 8c to 13c, to range from 275c to 300c/kg. Cows showed the
biggest change and were back by 25c/kg. Heavy 2 scores sold from 150c to 206c and 3 scores received from 200c to 227c/kg.
