Forbes Cattle Sale Market Report

17/09/2018

Total Yarded – 1942

Numbers lifted this sale and quality continues to be mixed. There were some good lines of well finished grain feds offered along
with the plainer secondary types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a fairly steady market, where the better
finished lines attracted strong competition.
Yearling steers to processors held firm with middle weights selling from 255c to 300c and heavy weights receiving from 255c to
312c/kg. Those to feed were also steady, to receive from 250c to 299c for medium weights and 252c to 318c/kg for the heavier
end. Yearling heifers to processors sold from 254c to 291c/kg for middle and heavy weights. Those to feed lifted with quality, to
receive from 230c to 282c/kg.
Heavy steers and bullocks were a couple cents dearer to sell from 255c to 308c/kg. Grown heifers received from 243c to
272c/kg for the better offering. Cows held firm with heavy 2 scores selling from 172c to 221c and 3 scores from 220c to
254c/kg.
