Forbes Cattle Sale Market Report

 Total Yarding – 514hd

7/1/2019

The first sale of the year saw numbers remain similar to the final sale of 2018. Quality was very mixed, with a large percentage
of plainer feeder type cattle yarded, along with the few well finished pens. Yearlings made up the majority of the offering and
most of the usual buyers were present and competing.
Yearling steers to feed were well supplied and sold from 280c to 309c/kg for middle weights. Heavy weights received from 221c
to 312c/kg. Those to processors sold from 270c to 284c/kg. The heifer portion to feed received from 225c to 270c, with the
better finished lines to processors selling from 258c to 284c/kg.
There were too few heavy steers and grown heifers to quote. Cows showed a dearer trend to last year’s sales, with heavy 2
scores selling from 192c to 212c, while 3 scores made 213c/kg
