Numbers almost halved this sale and quality was also reduced. There was a larger percentage of plainer secondary cattle penned
along with the few better finished lines. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.
Yearling steers to processors were limited and averaged 268c/kg. Those to feed were 9c easier with medium weights selling from
230c to 284c and heavyweights from 250c to 290c/kg. The heifer portion was 10c to 15c/kg easier. Processors paid from 200c to
250c for medium and heavyweights. Those to feed sold from 215c to 255c/kg.
Grown heifers were limited and reached 229c/kg. Cows were firm to 5c cheaper, while heavy 2 score cows sold from 165c to
197c and 3 scores ranged from 188c to 202c/kg.
