Numbers declined sharply this sale and quality continued to be very mixed. There were some grain assisted cattle on offer, along
with the plainer types. Cows made up the majority of the offering and the usual buyers were present and competing.
Yearling steers to processors were firm to 3c dearer, to sell from 235c to 270c/kg. Those to feed also improved, receiving from
224c to 264c/kg. The heifer portion increased from 10c to 15c/kg. Processors paid from 233c to 253c, with those to feed selling
from 190c to 224c/kg.
Heavy steers made to 248c/kg. Grown heifers sold from 150c to 181c/kg. Cows showed the biggest change after last week’s
sale, improving from 15c to 20c/kg. Heavy 2 scores sold from 119c to 148c, and 3 scores made from 142c to 160c/kg.
