Numbers lifted slightly this sale, with quality continuing to be very mixed. Lighter plain cattle made up the majority of the yarding, along with
the few better finished pens. The usual buyers were present and competing in a market that was firm to dearer for the better lines, but
cheaper for the plainer lighter types.
Vealer steers and heifers to restockers sold from 176c to 250c/kg. Yearling steers to processors were limited, reaching 300c/kg. Those to feed
were 5c easier, with middle weights making from 210c to 300c/kg. Heavy weights sold from 270c to 314c/kg. The light plain lines to restockers
varied in price from 190c to 282c/kg. The heifer portion to processors held firm, making from 210c to 287c/kg. Those to feed received from
195c to 257c, with restockers paying from 170c to 217c/kg for the lighter lines.
Grown heifers sold from 155c to 248c/kg. A better yarding of cows sold firm to 5c/kg better. Heavy 2 scores sold from 166c to 198c and 3
scores made from 195c to 228c/kg.
