Numbers remained steady this sale and quality continues to be very mixed. There were some good lines of grain assisted and finished cattle
available, along with a large percentage of plainer secondary cattle. The usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.
Yearling steers to processors were limited in number and sold from 256c to 299c/kg. Those to feed were 10c to 15c easier with middle weights
selling from 250c to 298c and heavy weights making from 259c to 301c/kg. Restockers were active on the lighter lines paying from 180c to
289c/kg. The heifer portion to processors eased 15c to receive from 230c to 293c/kg. The plainer types to feed were back 8c to 12c to receive
from 233c to 275c/kg.
Heavy steers and bullocks were limited and eased sharply receiving from 255c to 288c/kg. Grown heifers sold from 223c to 260c/kg. Despite a
good penning of cows prices eased 20c with heavy 2 scores selling from 180c to 230c and 3 scores selling from 224c to 246/kg. The best
heavy bull reached 296c/kg.
