Total Yarding – 30,800 Hd

Numbers lifted this sale with lambs showing the increase. Quality was again mixed with some excellent runs of trade and heavyweights penned along with the plainer types. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to easier market.

Trade weight lambs were firm with the 20-24kg portion selling from $120 to $158/head. Heavy and extra heavyweights were firm to $4 easier with heavy’s selling from $152 to $170/head. Extra heavyweights ranged in price from $160 to $236/head. Carcase prices averaged from 620 to 650c/kg. The best heavy hoggets reached $143/head.

Mutton quality was fair but mixed and Merinos made up the majority of the offering. Merino ewes sold from $43 to $103/head. Heavy crossbreds received from $73 to $131 with Dorper ewes reaching $91/head. Merino wethers sold from $47 to $106/head.
