Numbers lifted slightly with both lamb and mutton showing the increase. Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales though there was
a large percentage of store lambs on offer. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.
New season lambs to restockers attracted strong competition with extra buyers present. The fresh well bred lambs sold from $139 to $162
with the drier types receiving from $79 to $150/head. Trade weights eased $6 to sell from $154 to $174/head. Heavy and extra heavy weights
were $10 to $12/head easier. Heavy lambs sold from $170 to $204 with extra heavy weights reaching $225/head. Carcase prices averaged
757c to 792c/kg cwt.
Old lambs were also $4 to $8/head easier. Trade weights ranged from $150 to $174 while heavy weights received from $166 to $205/head.
Mutton numbers were made up of mostly Merinos and quality was fair. Prices lifted with Meirno ewes selling from $111 to $214/head.
Crossbred ewes sold from $111 to $208 with Dorper ewes receiving from $110 to $196/head. Merino wethers sold from $127 to $196/head
