Numbers lifted this sale with lambs showing the increase. Lamb quality was very mixed with a few good lines of finished lambs on offer along
with a large percentage of plainer store types. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing along with restockers in a fairly steady
market.
Light store lambs to restockers sold from $70 to $166/head. Trade weight new season lambs received from $151 to $177/head. Old lambs
were firm to $5/head dearer on the better types. Trade weights made from $156 to $177/head. Heavy weight lambs to 26kg sold from $176
to $202 with extra heavy weights receiving from $210 to $255/head. Carcase prices averaged from 740c to 777c/kg cwt.
Mutton numbers were made up of predominately Merinos and quality was fair. Prices eased $2 to $6 with Merino ewes selling from $110 to
$203/head. Crossbred ewes received from $112 to $215 with Dorper ewes making from $92 to $192/head. Merino wethers sold from $108 to
$216/head.
