The final sale for 2019 saw numbers show a sharp decrease with both lamb and mutton affected. Lamb quality continues to be mixed with a
large percentage of store lambs penned along with some good lines of finished and grain fed lambs offered. the usual buyers were present
and competing in a fairly steady market.
Light lambs to restockers held firm selling from $80 to $150/head. Trade weight new season lambs were back $4 receiving from $135 to
$178/head. Old trade weight lambs held mostly steady to receive from $148 to $177/head. Heavy and extra heavy weights were also firm
with heavy lambs to 26kg, selling from $175 to $202/head. Extra heavy weights received from $207 to $234/head. Carcase prices averaged
from 732c to 772c/kg cwt.
Mutton quality was similar to that of previous sales with Merinos making up the majority. Prices showed a sharp decrease with Merino ewes
selling from $105 to $170/head. Crossbred ewes ranged in price from $90 to $178 and Dorper ewes sold from $75 to $156/head. Merino
wethers reached $173/head
