Numbers lifted slightly with lambs showing the increase. Lamb quality was similar to that of the previous sale with both well finished and
plainer lambs penned. There was a handy offering of heavy and extra heavy weight lambs available. The usual buyers were present and
competing along with restockers in a firm to dearer market.
Store lambs to restockers were $4 to $8 dearer with prices ranging from $130 to $173/head. Trade weight lambs were firm to $4 better with
prices ranging from $144 to $177/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were $3 to $5/head dearer. Heavy lambs to 26kg sold from
$170 to $206/head. Extra heavy weights received from $196 to $238/head. Carcase prices averaged from 726c to 770c/kg cwt.
Mutton numbers remained similar and quality was fair. Merinos made up the majority of the offering and prices lifted $10/head. Merino ewes
sold from $118 to $230/head. Crossbred ewes ranged in price from $118 to $239 with Dorper ewes receiving from $117 to $210/head.
