Lamb numbers were similar and the quality of the heavy and extra heavy lambs was good. In the trade run quality slipped with a mixed run of lambs and there were a few lighter weight. Hoggets were limited and market trends followed quality. All the usual buyers were operating.

Light 2 score lambs were $7 cheaper selling from $51 to $121/head. The bulk of the trades were $3 to $5 cheaper with lambs 20 to 24kg selling from $121 to $175/head. On average lambs ranged from 600c for the lighter and mixed pens up to 670c for the better covered and more consistent lines. Lambs 24 to 26kg ranged from $148 to $186/head, back $2 on average. Heavy and extra heavy weights were firm with heavy lambs $178 to $208 and extra heavies $208 to $242/head averaging 680c to 690c/kg cwt. Heavy hoggets were dearer selling to $150/head.

Mutton numbers eased slightly and there were plenty of heavy mutton penned. Prices lifted $6 to $10 on average with the medium weight ewes selling from $50 to $90 and heavy crossbreds $100 to $128/head. Big Merinos topped at $140/head. Most of the better covered and heavy weights averaged from 310c to 350c/kg cwt.
