Numbers eased slightly this sale with lambs showing the decrease. There were 13,500 new season lambs penned and quality continues to be fair. There were good numbers of fresh finished lambs on offer. The usual buyers were present and competing strongly in a significantly dearer market.

Trade weight new season lambs lifted $16 to $20 with prices ranging from $162 to $195/head. Heavy lambs to 26kg were also $20 dearer and more in places to sell from $179 to $216/head. Extra heavy weight export lambs sold from $215 to $233/head. Carcase prices averaged from 778c to 850c/kg.

Old lambs also lifted $15 to $20/head and more in places. Trade weights sold from $164 to $175/head. Heavy weights up to 26kg received from $180 to $215 with export lambs ranging from $204 to $252/head.

Mutton quality was good with Merinos making up the majority. Prices jumped with Merino ewes selling from $134 to $222/head. Crossbred ewes received from $146 to $210 with Dorper ewes reaching $180/head.
