Lamb numbers eased and the quality was a bit mixed in the smaller offering. Trade and heavy lambs still made up the majority of lambs with
stores limited. There was an increase in Merino lambs and old lambs were limited. The market sold to a dearer trend.
New season lambs returning to the paddock sold from $144 to $172/head. Medium and heavy trade lambs were $8 dearer selling from $163
to $176/head averaging around 800c/kg cwt. Heavy new season lambs lifted $10 making from $175 to $206/head or 780c/kg cwt on average.
Extra heavy weights sold from $206 to 260/head. The few old heavy lambs were also dearer lifting $10 to $12 and sold from $211 to
$227/head. Extra heavy old lambs made from $213 to $250/head. Merino trades lifted $14 to sell from $168 to $188 and heavy weights sold
to $244/head.
Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was good with mainly medium and heavy sheep offered, prices were dearer by $6 to $10/head. Medium
weight ewes made from $145 to $174/head averaging around 700c/kg cwt. Heavy crossbred ewes sold from $177 to $236/head or 580c to
620c/kg cwt on average. Merinos sold from $205 to $223/head
