Lamb numbers were similar and the quality was again good. There were plenty of extra heavy lambs along with a good run of heavy weights.
Trade and light weight lambs were limited and there was a mixed run of Merinos. Not all the usual buyers were operating. The markets trend
eased on the trades, firm on the heavier lambs and dearer on the extra heavy weights.
The few store lambs sold from $137 to $176/head. Medium and heavy trade weights were $7 to $10 cheaper selling from $161 to $210/head
averaging 790c to 810c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs were firm $192 to $218/head or around 800c/kg cwt. Extra heavy lambs $200 to $242 and those
over 30kg were up to $20 dearer in some sales and reached a top of $293/head. Merino trades sold from $175 to $225/head and the best of
the hoggets reached $230/head.
There was a slight increase in mutton numbers and the quality was mixed. Prices were cheaper by $6 to $7/head on average. Medium weight
ewes $130 to $166/head. Heavy crossbred ewes $204 to $250\head and Merinos $210 to $240/head. Most averaged 640c to 670c/kg cwt.
