Lamb numbers lifted and the quality was mixed with more secondary lambs penned. There were still good runs of heavy and extra heavy lambs, trade weights were limited and light store were plainer.
The market sold to a cheaper trend. Light restocking lambs sold from $135 to $166/head and heavy lambs going onto crops reached $188/head.
Medium and heavy trade lambs were $6 to $9 cheaper ranging from $152 to $174/head and averaged 765c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs were $9 to $13 cheaper on average selling between $171 and $208/head or 740c to 760c/kg cwt on average. Extra heavy lambs to 30kg $192 to $226/head and over 30kg cwt reached $288/head.
Heavy Merino lambs sold from $170 to $187/head averaging 690c/kg cwt. Best priced hogget reached $220/head.
Mutton numbers were back and so was the quality. Not all the usual processors were operating in a cheaper market. Medium weight ewes $100 to $146/head with long skinned Merinos reaching $166/head.
Heavy crossbred ewes $170 to $230/head and Merinos reached $192 and Dorpers $195/head.
