Lamb numbers jumped and the quality was good. The bulk of the yarding were heavy and extra heavy lambs. Trade weights were limited but
in demand from buyers and there were very few store lambs. Merino lambs picked up in volume and sold to a dearer trend, with several good
large drafts of heavy weights. Heavy crossbred lambs sold to a cheaper trend while trade weights were dearer on the limited numbers.
Trade lambs to 24kg lifted $1 to $3 making from $185 to $209/head to average from 800c to 860c, while some of the very neat and short
skinned lambs averaged 920c/kg cwt. Lambs weighing 24 to 26kg lifted $6 and ranged from $200 to $215/head. Lambs weighing 26 to 30kg
were back $5 and sold from $206 to $238 to average 760c/kg, while the extra heavy lambs dropped $11, selling from $212 to $278/head.
Merino lambs were up $11, with the trades making from $162 to $182, and heavy weights reaching a top of $216/head.
Mutton numbers eased slightly and the quality was mixed however the market sold to a stronger trend. Medium weight ewes sold from $124
to $164/head. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $200 to $235 and Merinos reached $250/head.
