Numbers lifted this sale with both lambs and mutton showing the increase. Lamb quality was mixed with some good runs of heavy lambs
offered along with a few plainer types. The usual buyers were present and competing.
There was 8600 new season lambs penned and prices eased $3 to $5/head. Lambs 22kg to 26kg sold from $232 to $262 with those over
26kgs reaching $304/head. Carcase prices averaged 940c to 980c/kg cwt.
Old lambs lifted $6 with lambs to 26kg receiving from $217 to $248/head. Those over 26kg ranged from $246 to $333/head. Merino lambs
ranged in price from $190 to $258/head.
Mutton quality was mixed with some good lines of heavy sheep penned along with the plainer types. Prices showed a dearer trend with heavy
Merino ewes selling from $155 to $230/head. Crossbred ewes received from $150 to $250/head.
