Numbers fell this sale with mutton showing the decrease. Lamb quality was similar to that of the previous sale with both well finished and
plainer lambs penned. Not all the usual buyers were present and competing in a fairly steady market.
There was 7200 new season lambs penned and prices remained fairly similar. Trade weights to 26kg sold from $192 to $253/head. Heavy
lambs ranged in price from $245 to $275/head. Carcase prices averaged from 898c to 937c/kg cwt. Restockers were again active and paid
from $178 to $212/head. Old lambs lifted $6 with trade weights to 26kg selling from $196 to $244/head. Export lambs received from $243 to
$309/head. Merino lambs ranged in price from $196 to $240/head.
Mutton numbers fell and quality was mixed however prices regained some of last weeks fall. Merino ewes sold from $140 to $220, crossbred
ewes received from $136 to $220 and Merino wethers ranged in price from $165 to $223/head
