Total Yarding – 29,650 Hd

Numbers remained similar this sale though lamb numbers showed a decrease. Lamb quality was mixed but fair with good numbers of trade and heavyweight lambs penned along with a percentage of plainer secondary types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a dearer market.

Trade weight lambs were $4 to $8 dearer with the 20-24kg selling from $131 to $167/head. Heavy and extra heavyweights were $5 to $14 better. heavyweights to 26kg sold from $153 to $178 with those over 26kg receiving from $162 to $234/head. Carcase prices averaged from 634 to 661c/kg. The best heavy hoggets reached $145/head.

Mutton numbers lifted with 7700 head penned. Quality was fair and Merinos made up the majority. Prices followed the dearer trend with Merino ewes selling from $51 to $128/head. Crossbreds sold from $50 to $130 with Dorper ewes reaching $112/head. Merino wethers sold from $48 to $128/head.
