Numbers declined this sale with lambs showing the decrease. Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales with both well finished and plainer pens yarded. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were well supplied. The usual buyers were present and competing in a dearer market. Light lambs lifted $2 to sell from $100 to $123/head. Trade weights were $4 to $5 better and more in place with prices from $118 to $150/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were $3 to $4/head better. Heavy lambs sold from $143 to $158 and extra heavy weights received from $152 to $211/head. Carcase prices averaged from 574 to 613c/kg cwt. Mutton numbers increased though quality continues to be mixed. Prices also showed a dearer trend with Merino ewes selling from $90 to $180/head. Crossbred ewes sold from $91 to $189 and Merino wethers made from $97 to $180/head.
