Yarded – 38,100hd   Lambs 27,300   Mutton 10,800

Numbers eased slightly this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the decrease. Lamb quality was similar to that of the
previous sale with good numbers of finished grain assisted lambs offered along with the plainer types. The usual buyers were
present and competing in firm to slightly dearer market.
Light lambs lifted $2 to sell from $113 to $118/head. Trade weights were firm to $3 better with prices from $123 to $156/head.
Heavy and extra heavy weights were $2 to $4/head dearer. Heavy lambs sold from $144 to $165 and extra heavies received
from $156 to $234/head. Carcase prices averaged from 603c to 645c/kg cwt.
Mutton quality continues to be mixed with good numbers of heavy sheep penned along with the lighter offering. Prices were
strong particularly on the lighter sheep. Merino ewes sold from $102 to $188, crossbred ewes received from $100 to $188 and
Dorper ewes made from $88 to $163/head. Merino wethers received from $94 to $188/head.
