Numbers lifted this sale with lambs showing the increase. Lamb quality was similar to the previous sale with a large percentage
of grain assisted well finished lambs offered. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were well supplied. The usual buyers were
present and competing strongly in a dearer market.
Light lambs sold from $121 to $126/head. Trade weights were $3 to $6 dearer from $133 to $163/head. Heavy and extra heavy
weight lambs were $10 to $20/head dearer and more in places. The 22-26kg range sold from $162 to $196 with those over 26kg
selling from $195 to a record high price for NLRS reported saleyards of $260/head. Carcase prices averaged from 667c to
711c/kg cwt. Heavy Merino lambs sold from $154 to $200/head.
Mutton numbers declined and quality continues to be very mixed. There were some good lined of heavy sheep penned along with
the lighter types. Prices lifted with Merino ewes selling from $102 to $180/head. Crossbred ewes sold from $104 to $205/head.
Merino wethers received from $15 to $195 with crossbreds reaching $219/head.
