Total Yarding – 32,650hd        Lambs – 21,350      Sheep – 11,300

Numbers fell this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the decrease. Lamb quality was very mixed with fewer heavy and
extra heavy weight lambs penned than in previous weeks. The usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to dearer
market.
There was 7,300 new season lambs penned and prices lifted $6 to $8/head. Restockers were active on the store types paying
from $36 to $136/head. Trade weight lambs sold from $180 to $225/head. Heavy lambs received from $220 to $245/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 910c to 945c/kg cwt. Old trade weight lambs held fairly steady selling from $158 to $216/head.
Heavy weights ranged in price from $200 to $230 with extra heavy weights receiving from $225 to $288/head. Carcase prices
averaged 848c to 939c/kg cwt.
Mutton quality was very mixed with some good pens of heavy sheep offered along with the plainer, lighter types. Prices lifted $5
to $8 with Merino ewes selling from $90 to $180/head. Crossbreds received from $94 to $161 and Merino wethers sold from
$133 to $166/head.
