Numbers lifted this sale, with lambs showing the biggest increase. Lamb quality was similar to that of previous sales, with good
numbers of finished lambs offered, along with the plainer store types. There was extra buyers present and competing in a dearer
market.
Light lambs lifted $10 to make from $121 to $133/head. Trade weights were $6 to $12 dearer, with prices from $134 to
$165/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were well supplied, making $5 to $6/head more. Heavy lambs varied in price
from $162 to $178, with extra heavy weights receiving from $173 to $232/head. Carcase prices averaged from 647c to 704c/kg
cwt.
Merinos made up the majority of the mutton yarding and quality was very mixed. Prices lifted $3 to $5, as Merino ewes sold from
$100 to $150/head. Crossbred ewes received from $93 to $145 and Dorper ewes made from $80 to $128/head. Merino wethers
varied in price from $99 to $155/head.
