Total Yarding – 33,000hd Lambs – 23,700 Sheep – 9,300
Numbers lifted this sale, with both lamb and mutton showing the increase. Quality continues to be very mixed, with good numbers of supplementary fed finished lambs offered, along with the plainer types. The usual buyers were present and competing along with restockers, in a cheaper market. Lambs back to the paddock held steady making from $90 to $131/head. Light lambs eased $7 to make from $112 to $121/head. Trade weights were $10 to $13 easier, making from $125 to $151/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were well supplied, but eased $10 to $15/head. Heavy lambs sold from $146 to $164, as extra heavy weights received from $154 to $215/head. Carcase prices averaged from 605c to 645c/kg cwt. Mutton numbers comprised mainly Merinos and quality was mixed. There were some good lines of medium and heavy sheep offered, along with the lighter types. Prices eased slightly, with merino ewes making from $92 to $153/head. Crossbred ewes sold from $90 to $154 and Dorper ewes made from $86 to $127/head. Merino wethers varied in price from $89 to $140/head.
