Numbers lifted this sale with both lamb and mutton showing the increase. Lamb quality was fair and similar to that of previous sales. Trade
and heavy weight lambs were well supplied. The usual buyers were present and competing along with competition from restockers in a dearer
market.
Light lambs lifted $4 to sell from $135 to $145/head. Trade weights were $6 to $10 dearer with prices ranging from $151 to $177/head.
Heavy lambs to 26kg lifted $8 selling from $172 to $206/head. Extra heavyweights were $15 better to receive from $190 to $243/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 685c to 756c/kg cwt.
Mutton numbers doubled with Merinos making up the majority. Quality continues to be mixed and prices again lifted. Merino ewes sold from
$108 to $203/head. Crossbred ewes received from $112 to $230 and Dorper ewes ranged in price from $118 to $208/head. Merino wethers
reached $170/head.
