Lamb numbers were steady and the quality very good. There was a good run of trade and heavy lambs most supplementary fed and while
there was a very good run of extra heavy lambs there was a lot less weight offered in this weight range. Light lambs were limited and all the
buyers operated in a mostly cheaper market.
Light 2 score lambs sold slightly dearer $111 to $144/head. Trade lambs to 22kg ranged from $155 to $198 slipping $4 to $8/head. The heavy
lambs to 26kg were firm to $4 dearer with the 4 score lambs $204 to $255/head. Carcase prices averaged 820c to 880c/kg cwt. Extra heavy
lambs were $25 cheaper and ranged from $265 to $315/head. Heavy Merino lambs $185 to $211 and hoggets reached $215/head.
Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was again mixed. Mutton prices varied and heavy weights sold to a cheaper trend. Heavy Merino ewes
made from $176 to $235 and crossbred ewes sold from $143 to $230/head. Most averaged 570c to 610c/kg cwt
