Numbers remained fairly steady this sale though lamb numbers eased. There were 9,900 new season lambs penned and quality was reduced
slightly from the previous sale. There was a greater percentage of drier lambs on offer and there was also less weight yarded than in previous
weeks. The usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to easier market.
Store type new season lambs to restockers sold from $96 to $167/head. Light new season lambs held steady, selling from $144 to $167/head.
Trade weights were firm to $3 easier with prices making from $155 to $195/head. Heavy and extra heavy weights were $6 to $8/head easier.
Heavy lambs sold from $200 to $210/head with extra heavy weights selling from $212 to $245/head. Carcase prices averaged from 834c to
856c/kg cwt. Old light lambs received from $137 to $158/head. Trade weights were $2 to $4 easier, selling from $159 to $180/head. Heavy
lambs to 26kg sold from $203 to $234/head.
Mutton numbers increased though quality was fair. Merinos made up the majority of the offering and prices eased slightly. Merino ewes sold
from $108 to $188/head. Crossbred ewes sold from $111 to $190 with Dorper ewes receiving from $110 to $170/head. Merino wethers sold
from $120 to $190/head.
