Numbers fell this week with 450 cattle yarded. Quality was mixed with a good supply of prime cattle and feeders along with some plainer types. Most of the regular buyers were present.
Young cattle to the trade were 10c dearer, prime yearling steers sold from 290c to 340c and yearling heifers, 250c to 339c/kg. Feeder steers held firm selling between 270c and 368c while feeder heifers were up 5c, 270c to 329c/kg.
Prime grown steers and heifers were 10c to 12c better. Heavy steers sold from 260c to 317c and heifers, 275c to 314c/kg. Cows held firm, 2 and 3 scores selling from 129c to 195c and heavy prime cows 220c to 239c/kg.
