Numbers were back and the quality was good with good numbers of grain assisted steers and heifers that had weight and yield. There were plenty of feeder cattle but less plain cattle and fewer light weaners. Prime grown steers and heifers were limited with most of the grown steers not having enough cover and went back to feed. Only 470 cows were penned and the market sold to stronger trends.

The few weaner steers sold from 450c to 502c and heifers 360c to 396c/kg. Feeder steers were 3c to 4c stronger on average but there were more making over 500c/kg this week. Feeder heifers were 15c to 20c stronger on the medium weights and heavy feeder heifers lifted 10c with the bulk ranging from 400c to 475c/kg.

Heavy trade cattle were firm to 3c better and steers ranged from 459c to 475c/kg. The younger grown steers to feed sold from 440c to 474c and a blended pen of milk and 2 tooths reached 520c/kg were 5c better. Prime heavy grown heifers sold to a top of 439c/kg. Cows were 15c to 17c stronger, prime heavy weights ranged from 358c to 376c and the leaner 2 score cows sold from 274c to 330c/kg.
