With no sale scheduled next week numbers jumped with agents yarding 2801 head. Quality was very mixed with a larger percentage of plainer secondary cattle penned due to the continuing dry conditions. The usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.

Yearling steers to processors were back 5 to 8c/kg to sell from 430c to 470c/kg. Unfinished lines to feed also slipped particularly on the lighter cattle. Prices ranged from 430 to 530c/kg. The heifer portion to feed eased to sell from 380 to 470c/kg. Grain assisted finished lines to processors received from 420 to 466c/kg.

Heavy steers and bullocks reached 469c/kg. Grown heifers sold from 340 to 440c/kg. Cows showed the biggest change falling 20c to 30c/kg. Heavy finished cows ranged in price from 306 to 344c/kg with secondary cows selling from 255 to 312c/kg. The best heavy bull reached 391c/kg.
