FORBES CATTLE SALE MARKET REPORT 22/04/24

Numbers fell this sale with agents yarding 1111 head. Quality was very mixed with a larger percentage of plainer western cattle penned along with the better types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market.

Yearling steers to feed were 8 to 15c cheaper with prices ranging from 260 to 345c/kg. The better types to processors were limited and sold from 290 to 318c/kg. The heifer portion was also 15 to 20c easier. Feeders paid from 253c to 292c while those to processors ranged from 258 to 300c/kg.

Heavy steers and bullocks dropped 15c receiving from 230 to 295c/kg. Grown heifers ranged from 225 to 280c/kg. Cows fell 20-30c with heavy 2 score from 160 to 210 and 3 score 207 to 215c/kg.
