Numbers jumped this sale with agents yarding 29400 head in wet conditions. There was 23600 lambs penned and quality improved from the previous sales. There was a good run of trade and heavy lambs available and fewer secondary types penned. The usual buyers were present and competing in a dearer market.
Trade weight lambs lifted $5 to $8/ head to sell from $256 to $322/head. Heavies to 26kg sold from $298 to $330 with extra heavyweight ranging from $315 to $402/head, Carcase prices averaged 1287 to 1260c/kg.
The best heavy hoggets reached $283/head.
There was 5800 mutton penned with mixed quality Merinos making up the majority. Prices showed a significant lift, jumping $12 to $17/head. Merino ewes sold from $186 to $339/head. Heavy crossbred ewes ranged from $235 to $338 with Dorpers from $251 to $330/head. Merino wethers sold from $176 to $268/head.
