With rain throughout the drawing area numbers dropped dramatically with agents yarding just 14400 head. There was 10300 lambs penned and quality was very mixed. There was a limited selection of finished grain assisted lambs offered and these attracted spirited competition. The usual buyers were present and competing in a dearer market.
Trade weight lambs 20-26kg sold from $264 to $325/head. Heavy export lambs ranged in price from $325 to $389/head. Carcase prices an averaged from 1180 to 1250c/kg. The best Merino hoggets reached $280/head.
There was 4100 mutton yarded and quality was mixed. Prices followed the stronger trend with Merino ewes selling from $183 to $298/head. Crossbreds received from $185 to $300/ head with heavy Dorpers reaching $298/head.
