Lamb numbers lifted and the quality was plainer with an increase in light Merino lambs that were offered in big lines. There was a good run of heavy and extra heavy lambs most were grain assisted and a good run of trade weights. Feeder and processors were both very interested in trade weight lambs. The market sold to a cheaper trend.

The big runs of light Merino lambs under 12 kg sold from $73 to $112 and upto 16kg ranged from $126 to $175/head. Trade lambs 20 to 24kg sold from $238 to $290/head and averaged 1125c to 1150c/kg and were between $3 and $6/head cheaper, the 24 to 26kg lambs were stronger with pressure from feeders and sold from $279 to $312/head. Heavy lambs eased $10/head on average and sold from $292 to $333/head and averaged 1090c/kg. Extra heavy lambs sold from $313 to $378/head or around 1045c/kg. Heavy Merino lambs topped at $279 and Dorpers reached $355/head.

Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was mixed. Prices were stronger on medium and heavy weights with gains of upto $15 and $20/head. Medium weight ewes sold from $158 to $266, heavy crossbreds reached $296 and Merinos and Dorpers reached $300/head. Most sold in the ranged of 800c to 900c/kg cwt.
