Forbes Cattle Sale Market Report 18/03/24

Total Yarding – 1,065Hd

Numbers fell this sale but quality was similar to that of previous weeks. There were some handy lines of feeder cattle on offer along with the finished types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a reasonably steady market. 

Yearling steers to processors sold from 285c to 314c/kg. Those to feed were firm to 8c easier with prices ranging from 268c to 350c/kg. The heifer portion was firm to 6c better with processors paying from 250 to 315c/kg. Plainer lines to feed received from 230c to 290c/kg. 

Heavy steers and bullocks sold from 250 to 314c/kg. Grown heifers ranged in price from 228 to270c/kg. Cows held fairly steady with heavy 2 score from 180 to 215c and 3 score 215 to 226c/kg.
