Total Yarding – 24,450 Hd

Numbers lifted this sale with agents yarding 24,450 head. Lamb numbers showed the increase with 19550 penned. Quality continues to be mixed with some good lines of finished trade and heavyweight lambs penned along with the plainer and secondary types. The usual buyers were present and competing in a firm to dearer market.

Trade weight lambs were firm to $5 better with the 20-24kg selling from $125 to $165/head. Heavy lambs to 26kg were $5 dearer with prices ranging from $143 to $184/head. Extra heavyweights were also firm to $3 better to received from $170 to $237/head. Carcase prices averaged from 630 to 655c/ kg. The best heavy hoggets reached $145/head.

Mutton quality was fair and a Merinos made up the majority. Prices lifted with Merinos ewes selling from $49 to $115/head. Crossbreds ranged from $46 to $116 with Dorper ewes reaching $103/head. Merino wethers reached $105/head.
