Total Yarding –27,200 Hd

Numbers lifted this sale with agents yarding 27200 head. Lamb numbers remained steady with 15700 penned and quality continues to be mixed. There were some good lines of well bred finished lambs offered along with the secondary and off types. Most of the usual buyers were present and completing in a firm to easier market.

Light and secondary lambs lifted $3 to $5 to sell from $112 to $141/head. Trade weights were firm to $3 easier with 20-24kg selling from $128 to $178/head. Heavy and extra heavyweights were $5 to $8 cheaper dependant on quality with prices ranging from $157 to $248/head. Carcase prices averaged from 630 to 689c/kg. Heavy hoggets jumped $15 to sell from $125 to $144/head.

Mutton numbers showed the increase with 11,500 penned. Quality was fair and strong competition saw prices jump $15 to $20/head. Merino ewes received from $50 to $148 with crossbreds selling from $71 to $145/head. Dorper ewes reached $125/head. Merino wethers sold from $66 to $130/head.
